Congrats everyone! We completed 1/12 months of the year. Is it just me or did January seem like a never ending month void of creativity? I was so disappointed because I literally could not think of one thing to post about. That’s probably because I didn’t do anything/ spent the majority of my time being a little homebody. But ya know, we all need that once in a while.
I did however read a book! That was one of my intentions this year (to read more), so gold star to me for actually following through on something. Okay, I'll admit I started easy, and read the book Bossypants by the hilarious Tina Fey. A chuckle or two was had.
Along the lines of new year’s intentions, I also really made an effort to take care of my body this month.I started the first week of January, sticking to a Whole30 diet, just to kick myself out of my holiday eating habits (I swear I gained about 10 pounds in November and December!!!). After week one, I went back to my normal eating but with more caution and awareness of what I was actually putting in my body.
I strived to eat a strong breakfast (if you follow my Instagram stories you’ll know how much I love poached eggs) and then smaller portions for lunch and dinner. Now that I think about it, I’ve actually really been into breakfast so maybe I’ll do a post about it soon! Another healthy habit I’ve gotten into is drinking hot lemon water every morning, and fresh mint tea at night. Again, another obsession of mine I might just need to dedicate a whole post to.
Anyway, that pretty much covers my uneventful January. I’m finally feeling more inspired to work on the blog, and to bring cool content (hopefully) bi-weekly for you guys! As always, feel free to leave a comment letting me know what you’d like to see on Elizabeth Shuai! Happy Tuesday!
