Goodbye May Gray hello June Gloom! Who else is actually loving the chilly, misty mornings we're having in LA right now? I'm savoring it, knowing what's right around the corner: THE HEAT aka sweaty thighs that stick to the leather of your car seat.
Once again, another month in the books! Can you believe we are already at the half way point of the year?! May was a very BUSY very STRESSFUL month. At least the beginning was stressful. I had final exams the first week of May so I really had zero time to dedicate to ES. And to make matters more miserable, my laptop literally broke the NIGHT before my first exam. Like actually just straight up died. I swear I almost had a heart attack.
After finals my best friend Jade graduated and I pretty much cried the entire weekend. She's been one of my best friends in college and I can't even begin to imagine not being able to see her every day, or when I'm really craving ice cream at 10pm and NEED her to drive me to McDonald's for a deliciously disgusting soft serve cone. Thank god she'll be in LA so we won't be that far apart, but still, I will miss you Jade!
After school was over and grad weekend had wrapped up I immediately took a mini trip to Palm Springs with close family friends. I continued to stay MIA from the blog, and was off my phone as much as possible, just trying to relax and not think about ANYTHING. For five days I just sat in the sun by the pool gazing up in amazement at the unreal backdrop of mountains. I played and swam in the pool for hours like I used to as a kid. We made funny videos for our own entertainment, played Rummikube, and drank way too many Diet Peach Snapple's. And I read for fun (more on the subject of reading to come). It was perfect.
Then in the last week of May I started my dream internship! I've been at it for two weeks now and am LOVING it! I have a pretty strong idea of the field of work I would like to get into post-grad, and I am so excited I have the opportunity to explore the industry over the next few months. I will definitely give a more detailed report on my internship later on this summer, but for now I'm just smiling ear to ear!
So there you have it. May minutes. Check!
