Last night I went out for Mexican food with family and friends in Huntington Beach. I wasn't excepting much, but upon arrival I knew I had to share this place with you guys! The location was great: second floor of the Pacific City shopping and dining center over looking the ocean and HB pier. There is an outdoor patio bar and dining area in addition to a larger indoor space with windows that give views of the beach in almost every seat in the house. Our table basically ordered the entire menu, but here are some of my favorites you can't miss out on when you visit!
We ordered the Abeojos Margarita, a deliciously spicy and fresh cucumber/jalepeño drink. Hands down one of the most unique margaritas I've ever had. I usually don't like spicy drinks, however the cucumber complemented the jalepeño so not one flavor overwhelmed the other. Plus, the chips were out of this world. Although we had guacamole too, I preferred eating the chips by themselves since they were so warm, crunchy, and seasoned to perfection. I probably ate an entire basket by myself! No regrets(?)
The beet and watermelon salad was so beautiful! My horrible food photography does not do this dish justice. While it tasted pretty good, my only comment is that the watermelon was grilled, taking away the fruit's typical refreshment and giving it a more smokey flavor.
Fish tacos are my go to at any coastal Mexican restaurant, and these babies did not disappoint! The Baja Fish tacos were especially yummy thanks to the chile-lime aioli and tequila citrus slaw resting on top of a warm corn tortilla. I also really appreciated the ample amount of fish they put on the taco. A+ Ola, A+.
So there you have it! If you are ever in the HB area make sure to explore the shops at Pacific City and grab a bite from Ola Mexican Kitchen! :) :) :)
