Currently on spring break right now but to be honest I haven’t been out of my house for like 4 days because I’m feeling super lazy, and it’s also been so rainy and gross in LA lately.
When I finally did leave the safety and coziness of my bed, I stepped out in my favorite cloudy day uniform. It’s a scientific fact that you can’t go wrong with a black turtleneck and a blazer.
Apologies for these super unedited pictures. I meant to make them a little prettier, but then was like, nahhh. Am I the worst "blogger" or what?
I love this look because it took me literally three minutes to pull together, but is so simple and chic.
In my dreams I hope to someday be one of those girls who can dive into a gigantic closet and spend hours coming up with the most perfect outfits. However, as a student, now is obviously not my time. When it comes to outfits and clothing, I am so for the least amount of effort, simply for lack of time.
Recently I was looking into capsule closets or capsule collections (I’m not exactly sure), which is basically the practice of having just a few staple items in your wardrobe that you rotate constantly along with any accessories. Looking on my Instagram and other outfit posts I think I’ve unintentionally created my own capsule closet. I know this sounds totally weird coming from a person who admires fashion, but I actually hate shopping and buying new clothes. (Yeah, I don’t know what’s wrong with me). And for that, my wardrobe basically revolves around a few staple pieces (like the turtle neck and the boots featured in this post). Is this pure genius or pure laziness?
Hopefully one day I can break away from my little capsule, but for now I’m content with my lazy-girl approach to fashion and style. Anyone else with me on this?
My friend and I were craving something sweet the other night after dinner so we drove over to Small Batch (the ice cream store way in the background of this picture). We got there right as it was closing, (we literally had to knock on the door because it looked so empty inside) but the guy in the store saw us and let us in anyway—bless his heart. After tasting a few flavors we settled on two cups of the cookies and cream, which is out of this world by the way. As I was getting ready to pay, the guy was like, “Don’t worry, this one’s on me”. I don’t know why I got so excited about this free ice cream, but like, FREE ICE CREAM?! Free and ice cream, my two favorite things:)).
Anyway, moral of the story; if you’re ever on Venice stop into Small Batch for a delicious scoop and (in my case), great customer service.
On another super random note, who else is obsessed with the Netflix show LOVE? I started watching it at the beginning of the week and literally could not stop. I binged all three seasons and wow. First of all, Gus and Mickey are literally the cutest ever and secondly, I realized that despite living in Los Angeles my entire life, I really have no clue where anything is. The show is filmed all over LA and has really inspired me to try new places that aren’t in my immediate neighborhood.
Aaaaannnnd with that, I'm off to find a new spot for brunch... suggestions?
