Happy Earth Day!!! In celebration of our Mother Earth, I thought I would make a little post recognizing some brands that are making a difference in the world of fashion in their efforts to be more sustainable and environmentally conscious.
Naturally, I am not the heaviest of consumers as I don’t actually enjoy shopping (to a certain degree), but I know the fashion world has BUY, BUY, BUY attitude that can be very hard for people to resist. Fast fashion is wildly popular because it’s cheap, and well, fast. You can buy something from Zara or H&M, that is super cute but will only last you the season before it falls apart, and then you’re back in the game buying another unsustainable piece again and again. It’s an icky cycle.
Fortunately, there are some brands that are changing this. Click below to discover some environmentally conscious brands that are equally chic as they are sustainable.
"By working directly with cotton farming families in Egypt, we want to rebuild the industry from the inside. We make our own fabrics from raw cotton bought direct from farmers at guaranteed prices. Like farm-to-table, but for your clothes. To stop the cycle of child labour, we’ve also partnered with pro-literacy organizations on the ground in the Nile Delta. In 2017 we completed the funding and construction of our first school," Easy Crew T-Shirt $38
